Shorter repair times when Google Glasses meets a PowerPoint presentation.
Earlier this month we configured a McLaren Senna with the assistance of two representatives of McLaren Special Operations. In that piece we wrote about few chances there are for the online “shopper” to get a feel for the coachbuilt experience; the Ferrari LaFerrari configurator offered just three color options, for instance, and Bugatti removed the few variables it presented for the Chiron. McLaren didn’t build a public configurator for the Senna. It’s the Rolls-Royce Cullinan to the rescue &mda
First came the mourning for the Dodge Viper, which ended production last year. Then came the Viper’s continued sales run as a “Zombie Car;” we just wrote about how the Viper has racked up 11 sales so far this year, two of them in April. Now Car and Driver reports that the two-seater snake will return shorty for its second encore after being discontinued in 2009. The mag isn’t equivocal about it, either, writing, “trust us: A new Viper is happening.” It won’t, however, be the same Viper that brou
There have been rumors about plans to replace the Jaguar XK since before the gentleman’s coupe ended production in 2014. Depending on which rumor you read, a reborn XK could remain compact and offer a 3.0-liter turbodiesel, grow a bit and move upmarket to challenge the Mercedes S-Class Coupe, or grow even more and challenge the Bentley Continental GT as “an elegant four-seater coupe.” About the only three consistent details have been that the new XK would ride on a reworked F-Type platform, that
Now that Ford’s hacking its U.S. car lineup down to the Mustang and the not-exactly-a-car Focus Active, we’ll spend awhile getting to read about hot cars for other markets. First up: Motoring predicts that Ford is finally preparing a Fiesta RS. We’ve had four years of rumors about the super-hot hatch with nothing to show — or we could cite 14 years of hankering if we go back to the 2004 Fiesta RS concept. Motoring believes this time’s for real because when it asked Ford Performance Europe
Nissan is throwing another multi-day overlanding bash ahead of the Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona, this week. Last year, the carmaker debuted the Titan Project Basecamp overlanding pickup at the expo. This year — even though Nissan’s event is called “Titan Adventure” — Nissan went with a survivalist SUV called the Armada Mountain Patrol. Other than the fact that you’re more likely to see a feral Martha Stewart in the deep woods eating canned rations before you’d see a bugge
Tesla just released a new video that appears to exist for no other reason than to recap Tesla. There are coupes and SUVs going fast, batteries and a gigafactory, a couple of semis, “The machine that makes the machine,” and lots of shots of active, intense factory workers. There’s also, at the 0:15-second mark, a tease of some new Tesla half built and half hidden under a sheet. We will assume this is the Model Y. And at the 1:05 mark we get a few seconds of the coming Roadster cockpit looking lik
